We will be working on this credit in the month of January
- Record yourself reading a children’s book “Reading Rainbow” style.
- Read a novel (200+ pg) you would normally never read. Write a 1.5-page report on the book. Include characters setting plot genre why would would normally never read that book and what you thought of it.
- Memorize a favorite poem (more than 10 lines)
- Read a graphic novel. Write a persuasive essay for or against the use of Graphic novels in school. (use persuasive essay rubric for grading.)
- Read 10 books to a younger child. Write down the books and who you read them to. Have a parent sign off that you did this. Then write a 1-page reflection on how you did. Make sure you are making the stories interesting by reading fluently, at a steady pace with inflection and voices.
- Create a reader’s dictionary with at least 50 words that you have come across in your reading. Include the dictionary definition, your definition and the pg. number and title of book that you came across this word.
- Read one of the stories in the Literature Anthology (Wonders Lock Book) and rewrite the story in 100 words or less. Make sure you include all the major plot points of the story.
- Pick a project from the book report list. (see Mr. Stock for details.)
- Create a 10 slide PowerPoint presentation about your book
- Create a Action figure for the main character using templates
- Create a newspaper for your book.
- Create a map of the world your book is based. Plot major plot points of the story with descriptions of what happened there.
- Make a 3D model of a scene from the book. Write a paragraph explaining your scene.
- Turn all or part of the book in to a comic book. (at least 6 pages)
- Write/film a news broadcast about the book.
- Film a movie trailer for this book.
- Complete several pieces of art about the novel
- Create a travel brochure of your book using the trifold format.
- Make a new book jacket for the book.
- Write/film a news broadcast about the book.
